Make sure the carrier is securely fastened in the car, ideally with a seatbelt, to prevent it from sliding around during travel. Sudden stops or turns can be scary for a small animal.

Start slow! If your hamster isn't used to car rides, begin with short trips around the block. Gradually increase the duration as your hamster becomes more comfortable.
